About the Job
Global IC Trading Group, an AS6081-certified independent distributor of electronic components, is looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator. This role sources and buys components, coordinates shipping, and handles accounts payable. The ideal candidate is organized, works well under deadline pressure, and handles sensitive supplier and pricing information with discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Source electronic components on the open market from approved and new independent suppliers through broker platforms such as NetComponents and BrokerForum; request and compare quotes, and negotiate price, lead time and terms within approved limits.
- Support supplier qualification by collecting certifications, traceability documents and references.
- Create and track purchase orders, follow up with suppliers on confirmations and delivery dates, and coordinate receiving with the inspection and quality team.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments with carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers, including commercial invoices, packing lists and import documentation (country of origin, HTS codes), and track shipments through delivery.
- Enter vendor bills and process payments in QuickBooks.
- Keep accurate records and support daily office operations, including resolving office-related issues.
- Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years purchasing or procurement experience a must; electronic component distribution experience strongly preferred.
- Accounts Payable experience a must; Accounts Receivable a plus.
- QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, required.
- Experience with shipping documentation and international shipments.
- Familiarity with counterfeit-avoidance practices (AS6081, ERAI) a plus.
- Strong negotiation, organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
